Utilities
Select the Risk Forecast tool from the menu.
This tool allows you to select specific metrics and desired units for display. Selected metrics may also be shown by asset type.
Select an Asset from the drop menu - distribution circuit or transmission lines.
Then select a metric. The legend will populate for the unit selected and the risk layer will be displayed on the map.
Select a unit for the values displayed. Layers can be displayed as Raw values or Percentiles. Raw values are selected by default. The map will refresh based on the unit selected.
Use the transparency slider to adjust transparency if needed
Use the timeline controls to see changes across the forecast
Select a bar on the timeline to view the risk output for that time
Use the right arrow button to incrementally view times. Note that risk will not change for the hours in between the 3 hour interval for risk outputs
Press the animate arrow to animate the risk output
Aggregated Risk Grouping & Individual Asset Risk Views
The initial risk layer view depicts an aggregated maximum value grouping of the individual assets within each circuit or transmission line.
To view the induvial risk metrics for lines within a circuit or segments in a transmission line:
Load the metric and asset value of interest described in the steps above.

To isolate individual risk values within a circuit, shift + right click the area you want to view in detail.
Image 2: Per Asset or Line Segment Risk
Once selected, the view will hide all other circuits or transmission line segments other than the users selection. The selected asset grouping will then display each segment of line and its assigned risk metric value.
The individual Asset and Line Segment views maintain the timeline control functionality (outlined in step 5 above) for the user to view risk throughout the forecast period.
The example above displays the advantage of having the high level aggregation data that will direct the users attention to the areas of concern. With the second image giving the user the detailed depiction of, where exactly the assets with elevated risk are located in that circuit or transmission line segment.
The entire circuit in the first image is symbolized with the Fire Size Potential metric of 5,000 acres. When viewed from the asset level, only the line segment on the right side of image two within the circuit presents a risk value fitting that criteria.
Territory Risk
The output maps represent the potential impacts associated with each ignition location either around an asset or across the territory. Areas with high risk (red) reflect ignition locations that may have significant impacts should a fire start at that location. Risk metrics are based on an 8 hour simulation started at the specific time period selected using the hourly forecasted weather conditions.
Export Territory Risk
Use the export button on the timeline controls to export the territory risk forecast to a KMZ file or GeoTIFF.
